What
kitchen equipment should I expect to find in the
villas/apartments?
All necessary kitchen utensils are normally part of
the units' standard equipment. Naturally this
standard is based on the Italian culinary
traditions, therefore typical American appliances
such as toasters and microwave ovens are not
present. Washers and dishwashers are typically
indicated in the property description.
What cleaning services
are available? How much is the
cost?
In all properties a standard final cleaning
service is always included in the rental rates,
along with utilities. Additional services are
available in most locations. Typically there will
be an hourly charge for maid service of
approximately $ 12/hour.
Are there any
additional costs once we arrive
there?
No. Unless stated otherwise in the individual
property description, all our rates are fully
inclusive of weekly rental, final cleaning and
utilities. A security deposit is required at check
in at most properties; this deposit will be
returned to you in full on your departure, minus
any eventual breakages/damages. Central heating
when necessary will be charged extra.
Is it possible to
arrange for a
cook?
Yes. In most properties we can arrange for a
cook to prepare one or more meals. Typically this
would be the caretaker/maid that supervises the
cleaning of the property, and the cost would be on
an hourly basis.
What if something
breaks or needs repairing during our
stay?
All properties are supervised by a local agent
or representative. You will always have a contact
number for an English speaking person who can help
you. In most residences and farmhouses, the
property manager lives on site.
Is there a telephone
in all properties?
No. In most apartments and private villas there
is no telephone. Unless the use of a telephone can
be arranged, the local agent/representative's phone
number can be used to receive messages which have a
character of emergency. In many cases a fax number
is also available for the same purpose. In the
larger standalone villas, such as those in the
Salogi catalog, a phone is always in the house.
What should we do if
we have a
complaint?
If you feel that the property you rented is not
prepared to your satisfaction, (for example if it
is not cleaned properly, or some appliances do not
work) you should contact your local agent/property
manager immediately so that the problem can be
rectified. It will be too late to let us know on
your return. If you feel that you are having
problems of communication with the local
representative, you are welcome to contact us and
we will mediate on your behalf in an effort to
resolve the problem. Should a situation arise where
a solution cannot be found during your reserved
stay, we will negotiate a reasonable refund with
the property management. Please check our
Booking
Conditions
for more details. Please note that the

Conditions for the Salogi
program are
slightly different.
Is renting a car a
necessity?
Naturally there are areas, particularly in the
country side, where a car rental is an absolute
necessity, as most properties are located off the
beaten track, however a car is always recommended
simply because the independance from public
transportation schedules adds considerably to
making your stay a most enjoyable one. In some
areas however, it is possible to do without a car
completely, such as in central Rome, or along the
coast of Tuscany.
is there a refund
policy?
The deposit
(30%) is always non-refundable, therefore we
strongly advice you to purchase Travel Cancellation
Insurance from your Travel Agent. For more details
on the refundable amounts in case of cancellation
on your part, please see our Booking
Conditions
.
