Car
Rental
For a number of years we have been representing
AUTO EUROPE; their vast choice of pick up and drop
off locations in Italy combined with their
competitive rates still make it our favorite in the
industry.
AUTO EUROPE operates as a wholesale reservation
agent, by placing car rental reservations through
Hertz®, Avis® and Europ-Car®.
We will be happy to quote you a price via e-mail or
on the phone. Car rental rates are linked to the
exchange rate and price adjustments are very
frequent. Rates are also affected by the pick up
and drop off location.
The rates, provided the rental initiates in Italy,
will include :
- unlimited
mileage
- applicable
taxes
- airport
surcharge (if applicable)
- fire &
theft insurance
- personal
accident insurance (PAI)
- collision
damage waiver (CDW)
All you need to do
is fill it up with gas and you're on your way to
the villa.
Reservations can be made over the phone with a
credit card. Auto Europe will charge your rental
immediately, however if your plans should change,
they have a full refund policy , no questions
asked.
Car Rental
Tips
- keep an eye on
the exchange rate of the US dollar; when the
dollar is very strong, car rental rates will be
lower.
- if you plan to
pick up and/or drop off the car at a location
other than an airport on the weekend, please
note that most car rental offices are closed
Saturday afternoon and all day Sunday. Airport
locations have more flexible hours.
- do you prefer
automatic transmission? Of course it is
available, but remember that they cost more than
manual transmission cars.
Other Villa
Related Services
The following optional services are available
at many of the locations we represent, but not all.
Please check with us for more details.Other
services are available during your stay at some
locations, such as baby-sitting, beach
arrangements, escorted tours, etc. but these do not
require advanced reservations.
- Groceries on
arrival: if you do not feel like dealing
with grocery shopping hours if not minutes after
you finally checked into your villa or
apartment, you don't have to! We can arrange for
a generic grocery list to be delivered to your
reserved property on the day of your arrival.
These lists vary in some locations, however the
Food Pack, as many call it, will contain the
obvious items of first necessity. In some
locations custom lists are supported.
- Cook. In
many location, particularly in the Salogi
properties, it is possible to arrange for a cook
to prepare one or more meals at the villa.
Typically this service will be rendered by the
house maid, and hourly charges will be similar
to additional maid service, at approximately 12
Dollars per hour. Service by professional chefs
is also available in some locations; rates will
be provided on request.
- Additional
maid service. In many properties, the rental
price will include cleaning service to some
degree. In larger properties such as those in
the Salogi program, this service is usually
performed two or three times a week, whereas in
all Marina di Pietrasanta properties it is
daily. Most apartments in Residences and
farmhouses only include final cleaning. You may
want to reserve additional hours or days; we
will be happy to arrange that for you.
- Chauffeur.
If you like the countryside of Tuscany and its
legendary rolling hills, but would prefer to
increment the number of wine tasting stops at
the many wineries, maybe what you need is a
chauffeur. This is also available, and rates
will be provided on request, on a custom planned
basis. This service is not inexpensive.
